Iran and Hamas: Media winning by losing?

Just as the American election was winding down, Hamas (which is the agent of Iran inside the Gaza Strip bordering Israel) decided to increase its almost daily rocket and mortar attacks on Israel by over ten-fold. Hamas said the increased pummeling of civilian targets in Israel was designed to end the Israeli occupation of Gaza.

Hello. Planet Earth to Hamas: Seven years ago, in the hope of trading land for peace, the Israelis evacuated lock, stock, and barrel from Gaza. That’s right. Seven years ago, Israel razed every Jewish settlement in Gaza, relocated every Jewish person out of Gaza, and withdrew every Israeli soldier.

So why would Hamas make such a ridiculous claim? Because the anti-Zionist mainstream media would be unlikely to stand up for the historical facts and because if Israel tried to defend itself the newly reelected U.S. President would be more likely to censure Israel rather than Hamas, which, of course, he did by telling Israel to dampen its response to the rocket and mortar attacks by Hamas.

Once again, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) did not play fair: 1. The IDF had the nerve to warn Hamas that increased attacks on Jewish schools, hospitals, and other population centers would result in the elimination of the leadership of Hamas. 2. In anticipation of increased attacks by Hamas, the IDF created Operation Pillar of Defense which was designed to not only decapitate the leadership of Hamas in Gaza but to eliminate the large number of long-range Fajr-5 rockets smuggled into Gaza by Iran.

On top of that, the IDF had the audacity to take the concept of President Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative (and denigrated by the mainstream media as: Star Wars), and prove that a missile can be shot down by another missile. The Israeli’s gave the name "Iron Dome" to their missile defense system which was able to discern which of the hundreds of rockets launched against Israeli territory would land in open fields and which ones were likely to hit populated areas. The Hamas’ rockets headed for open fields were allowed to do so. Iron Dome shot down 90-percent of the rockets aimed at Tel Aviv and other population centers.

Unfortunately for Hamas, the IDF wasn’t kidding when it warned that it could take out the leadership of Hamas inside Gaza. Using precision-guided weapons, the IDF took out the top leaders of Hamas, to include Iran’s master terrorist in Gaza, Ahmed Al-Jabari.

As soon as Hamas realized it was suffering another stunning defeat, Hamas claimed "victory" and asked for a ceasefire. U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, was hurriedly flown into Israel to act like she had something to do with arranging a ceasefire which, of course, she did not.

The ceasefire is the result of the IDF’s superior intelligence operations, the over 1,500 targeted strikes by the Israeli Air Force, and the technological breakthroughs represented by the Iron Dome missile-defense system.

Unfortunately, every time Israeli defends itself successfully, the anti-Zionist mainstream media ratchets up its vitriol against the Nation of Israel. And so it is that some people will be led to believe that Israeli was occupying Gaza even though there has not been a Jew in Gaza since 2005. Go figure.
