Thirteen Steps to Win the War on Terror

Understand the dire consequences of losing. Winning means we and our allies can achieve the great promises of the 21st Century. Losing means the end of the U.S. as a world power and an economic decline even worse than The Great Depression.

Stop feeling guilty about our world-wide economic success, our winning of the Cold War and becoming the world’s remaining super power. The summoning ideas of individual freedom, liberty and the free market place have been and, barring loss of the War on Terror, will remain the greatest forces for good in the history of humankind. It is not our fault that their “system” stinks.

Understand the enemy. Losing the war and our forced withdrawal to a Fortress America will not stop the assaults of the Islamo-fascists upon us abroad or at home. Listed here are but a few of the 7,581 terrorist attacks against us between 1981 and 2001: the Iran Embassy hostage taking in 1979; attacks on: Beirut, Lebanon Embassy 1983; Beirut, Lebanon Marine Barracks 1983; Lockerbie, Scotland Pan-Am flight to New York 1988; First New York World Trade Center attack 1993 Dhahran, Saudi Arabia Khobar Towers Military complex 1996; Nairobi, Kenya US Embassy’ Tanzania, US Embassy 1998; Aden, Yemen USS Cole 2000; New York World Trade Center 2001; Pentagon 2001.

The Islamo-fascists are driven by three basic ideas: (1) All Infidels must be converted to Islam or killed. (2) Fear of the liberation of women and (3) Envy of our economic successes contrasted with their “system” that leaves their masses impoverished and spiritual and physically imprisoned. Therefore, even if we cave in, the attacks against us at home and abroad will not cease.

Understand how the Islamo-fascists plan to win. They know they cannot win a conventional war against us. In fact, we are beating them in the special operations environment. They want to prolong the struggle until, with the help of the Sinistra Media, the faculty lounges of academe and some weak sisters on Capitol Hill, we grow weary and they win.

Defeat those members of Congress, of either party, who are more interested in constituent pork and/or pandering to the “cut-and-runners” rather than winning this war.

Stop adding layers of bureaucracy at the apex of our intelligence, military and diplomatic establishments. Instead, invest our resources, both human and monetary, at the broad base of the war-fighting triangle. Favor the front lines over the rear echelons.

Pay a premium to attract our best and brightest to serve in our military, diplomatic and intelligence services and pay for total immersion training in key foreign languages and cultures. Reward achievements, not seniority.

Short circuit the intelligence reporting system so the bureaucratic layers of “group-think” varnish are replaced by unvarnished reports from agents and sources in the field – no matter how unsettling and uncomfortable they are to conventional “wisdom.”

Harness all the organs of public diplomacy to steady our allies and to address those audiences capable of forming reasoned opinions. The Islamo-fascists are beyond rational reason. Forget them. Meanwhile, shut down their Tokyo Rose and Lord Haw-Haw media outlets such as al-Jazeera and “hack” out Islamo-fascist Internet access.

Apply overwhelming force undeterred by naïve and uninformed opinions by those who have made it their life-long endeavor to never break a sweat or put their life on the line for their nation.

Stop buying expensive weapons systems more suited to the Cold War. Invest in the weapons equipment, training and personnel needed by special operations teams to decapitate the enemy leadership.

Decapitate enemy leadership without remorse. The vast majority of Muslims are victims of the Islamo-fascists who want to restore the world their ancestors enjoyed in the 14th Century rather than allow work-a-day Muslims to enter the 21st Century. Kill their leaders. We win. They lose.

Finally, fight as a team because we understand the enemy plans to kill every last one of us. Team members must put aside partisanship, bureaucratic turf battles and inter-service rivalries.
